Victoria Day house-boating with the Stampeders

Call it shameless cross-promotion, if you like, but sometimes it just makes sense to let people know about great opportunities they may be interested in, and this is one of them.
Many of you know that I own a houseboat on Shuswap Lake, the house-boating capital of Canada. I rent it out to groups throughout the summer, and enjoy it some myself, too. It really is a lot of fun basking in the summer sun on a floating home for a few days.
Well, Victoria Day weekend, there’s a great opportunity to join me on the water for our season-opening “shake-down” cruise. I’m inviting individuals and couples to join me for this cruise. Maybe you’re interested!
Here’s a biggest attraction: The Stampeders, that great band from the 70s, are putting on a free concert in the middle of the lake. The concert is sponsored by Waterways, one of the big houseboat companies on the Shuswap. All boats are invited to gather around the huge boat the band will play from.
Last year I was at the same event, when Trooper was the featured band. Upwards of 1000 boats pressed up against the gigantic stage. It was a phenomenal afternoon!
So here’s the deal: (through my other company, Remote Escape Vacations):
Event duration: Sail Saturday at 10 a.m. sharp from the marina in Sicamous;
Return Monday about noon (2 nights)
Activities: Stampeders Concert, cruising the lake, hot tubbing, swimming, relaxing, beach activities, campfires, indoor games, conversations with new friends
What to bring: sleeping bag and pillow, personal items, your favorite protein for the barbeque, drinks (all other food, as well as coffee, tea and water supplied)
Cost: $125 per person, plus an hour’s assistance with meals or houseboat prep.
Maximum: 12 people
If you’ve dreamed of trying house-boating sometime, but found it was just too expensive to rent one of these behemoths (they are very expensive to operate and maintain), then this is a way to try it out for minimal cost.
